Pilot for short stay knowledge migrants in Holland
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment of the Netherlands has allowed on a pilot basis (from 1 Jan 2012 to 31 Dec 2013) knowledge migrants coming to Holland for a short time. This applies to knowledge migrants who could be engaged in short term projects, training, consulting, etc provided that the period of stay is not more than 3 months. An application for a work permit is still required, but the company does not need to advertise first and report the vacancy and the work permit will be issued in 2 weeks instead of the earlier 5 weeks.  

The new salary criteria for this scheme in 2012 are as follows:
1. Knowledge migrant older than 30 with gross yearly income at least €51,239 (was earlier €50,619)
2.  Knowledge migrant younger than 30 with gross yearly income at least €37,575 (was earlier €37,121)
3.  Foreigners who graduate in the Netherlands and accept a knowledge migrant job within 1 year of at least €26,931 (was €26,605)
4. New salary criteria for key personnel of international concerns is a gross yearly income at least € 51,239 (was € 50,619) regardless of age
